The Ultimate Vocalist Battlestation
After performing the e-Tambourine and e-Cowbell mod last week, I only needed a few more accessories to complete the ultimate vocalist battlestation.
Behold.
What you’re seeing here is the following:
- Pearl Ultra-Grip Brass Tambourine, Red (includes tambourine mounting bracket)
- Pearl PCB6 Primero 6″ Cowbell
- two Rhythm Tech RT7902 DSM 2 Universal Mounts
- Meinl Handmate Mountable Cowbell Beater
- Mad Catz Universal Microphone Stand (Xbox 360 controller clip only)
- DR Pro Tripod Mic Boom Stand
Is it too much? Probably. Is it ridiculous? Definitely. Is it awesomely rocktacular? You bet your sweet ass it is.
I’m a horrible vocalist, but playing with a tambourine in one hand, and the cowbell, mic, and controller all immediately at hand .. well, with our setup, you don’t just play vocals, you man the vocalist battlestation.
Highly recommended.

But do you think you may have got to the point that you’re taking it a little bit too seriously? ;-)
Hmmm, I wonder if a wireless tamborine would be better? I reckon one could be made, perhaps with a wireless microphone…
Wait… perhaps I’m taking it too seriously :-|
