Guitar Hero Air Guitar Rocker

One of the weirder Guitar Hero brand spinoffs is the Guitar Hero Air Guitar Rocker.

It’s actually sort of an interesting idea, and riffs on the theme of the Air Guitar Championships I’ve touched on before.

The Air Guitar Rocker consists of three items: Pick, Amplifier, and Belt buckle.

You mount the belt buckle and amplifier on your belt. The pick is sensed as you pass it across the belt buckle, and the volume and sound comes from the amplifier.

If you question the value or utility of air guitar as a professional sport, I continue to recommend the fantastic documentary Air Guitar Nation, if you haven’t seen it already.

The Guitar Hero Air Guitar Rocker includes some riffs from licensed songs in the Guitar Hero series:

  • Iron Man*
  • Smoke on the Water*
  • Ace of Spades*
  • You Really Got Me*
  • More Than a Feeling*
  • Barracuda
  • School’s Out
  • I Love Rock n Roll
  • La Grange
  • Hit Me With Your Best Shot

This kit includes two buckles, the asterisk denotes the songs in the default crossed guitar buckle pictured above. I’m sure you can imagine which parts of the songs are included here — the most memorable guitar riff in each song! It also includes 10 “original freestyle riffs”.

There are also two expansion buckles — the Encore Pack 80’s Rock:

  • I Wanna Rock
  • Cherry Pie
  • Nothin But a Good Time
  • Round and Round
  • Play With Me
  • 5 original riffs

And the Encore Pack Heavy Metal:

  • Mother
  • You Got Another Thing Comin’
  • Symphony of Destruction
  • ThunderKiss 65
  • Bark at the Moon
  • 5 original riffs

I gotta pick up one of these for my nephew! I’ll “test” it out myself first, of course.. more info is available at the official Air Guitar Rocker site, including a little flash demo of how the pick interacts with the buckle, and a few more action videos.

cool, it is like a pig amp, here is a funny joke I saw comparing air guitar to guitar hero, http://ponderingstuff.com/2010/04/18/air-guitar-vs-guitar-hero
